Frequently asked questions

Where can I get a safe piercing in Lisbon?

Dra. Piercing has two studios in Lisbon: Marquês de Pombal (Rua do Conde de Redondo, 91) and Sete Rios (Rua Basílio Teles, 24A). We use needles only (never guns), sterile single-use material and implant-grade titanium jewellery.

How much does a piercing cost?

The piercing costs 40 € per hole and jewellery is charged separately. Essential Line: 40 € + 20 € jewellery = 60 €. Premium Line: 40 € + jewellery from 25 €. Both include 1 laser therapy session and an aftercare kit. Female intimate and microdermal piercings are 90 €.

Do lobe and surface (australian) piercings cost differently?

No. Each hole counts as one piercing: 40 € service per hole, plus the jewellery from the line you choose. Example: 3 piercings = 120 € service + jewellery.

Do I need an appointment? How do I book?

We recommend booking ahead: online at pt.zappysoftware.com/m/drapiercing, on WhatsApp (+351 924 164 629) or via Instagram @dra.piercingpt. Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability.

Do you speak English?

Yes. Both studios serve clients in Portuguese and English.

Do you use a gun or a needle?

Needles only. A hollow needle is more precise and less traumatic for the tissue than a piercing gun, which helps healing.

What material is the jewellery?

We work exclusively with implant-grade titanium: light, strong and low-risk for allergies. We carry an Essential Line and a Premium Line, also sold online at shop.drapiercing.pt.

What is downsizing and when should I do it?

About 1 month after piercing, once the initial swelling goes down, we swap the post for a shorter one. This stops the jewellery from moving too much, reduces snagging and helps the piercing heal straight.

Does it hurt?

You feel a quick pinch that lasts a few seconds. Our team explains everything first and stays with you throughout — that is what we call humanised piercing.

How long does a piercing take to heal?

It varies: about 6–8 weeks for an earlobe, 6–12 months for cartilage (helix, tragus, conch, daith) and about 4–6 weeks for a tongue. See the full table in our piercing guide.

How should I clean my piercing?

Gently clean once a day with saline and a cotton bud. In the first days, cold saline compresses help with swelling. Don't twist the jewellery and avoid the sea and pools for at least 2 weeks.

Do you ship jewellery?

Yes, our online shop shop.drapiercing.pt ships titanium jewellery.
